Hello, welcome to Exousia Ministries’ website. My name is Pastor Darryl W. Joyce. I am so very pleased that you have chosen to browse our website. We have designed this website to be an “extension” of our worship services. It is my desire that everyone that logs into our website receive the same touch from Jesus, the Anointed One, and His Anointing, that people receive upon attending our worship services every week! The website provides information that you can use to strengthen your daily walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. For example, I encourage you to click on our tab entitled, “My Daily Faith Confessions”—there you will find power pact and faith filled confessions that spoken out loud daily will change your life forever! Also, click on the tab labeled “Pastor’s Help Desk” and you will find scriptures that I expound on every Sunday during our worship services that will help you successfully navigate through the challenges and circumstances of life. Most importantly, on our website you can review and study my weekly sermon outlines. I assure you that if you diligently apply these teachings to your life, the abundant life that Jesus Christ came to give us all will manifest in your life!
“Out Reach”: If Not Now, When?
Senior Pastor Darryl W. Joyce is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Exousia Ministries, Inc., located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He was born on August 16,1956 in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1974, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from Southeastern University in 1979, Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Howard University in 1982, and a Certificate in Business Management from the University of Maryland in 1988. He recently retired after 32 years of federal government service at the Government Accountability Office (GAO). At GAO he served as a senior policy analyst and conducted numerous audits of federal government programs of the Departments of Defense, Education, Labor and Health and Human Services. During his tenure, he received numerous commendations and awards for outstanding work performance. Pastor Joyce accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at age seven, and was first baptized at First Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. At age 10, he accepted an invitation from his best friend and mentor Larry Dempsey to visit his families’ church—the Church of Jesus Christ in Washington D.C. He instantly fell in love with the church. He was baptized again in the name of Jesus Christ and joined the church. He received the Holy Ghost on July 23, 1968 at the Bible Way Church WorldWide. During his years at the Church of Jesus Christ under the Pastorate of the late Pastor Marian B. Miller, he served as a janitor, usher, choir member, assistant choir director, and director of the men’s choir. In November 2000, he was ordained by then Elder Larry Dempsey and installed as Pastor of Exousia Ministries at a service held at the Church of Jesus Christ. His longtime friend Larry was installed as a Bishop in 1999 and oversees the great Hope For You Family and Worship Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Pastor Joyce is an extremely gifted “teacher” of the Word of God. Throughout Pastor Joyce’s tenure in ministry, God has used him mightily as a prophet and teacher to deliver people from sickness, disease, and addictions. In July 2003, Exousia Ministries, Inc. became a member of the International Covenant Ministries, under the leadership of Dr. Creflo A. Dollar Jr., Pastor and Founder of World Changers Church in College Park, GA. Pastor Joyce attributes much of his anointing, revelation from God’s Word, and success in life to the teachings of Dr. Dollar. Pastor Joyce is a visionary who has launched programs to serve the community. For example, he formed Exousia’s “Learning Zone Program” that provides children attending the ministry with free tutorial services. His program, “Merry Give-in-Mass” provides families of teenage pregnant mothers with complete Thanksgiving meals, and clothes and toys for children at Christmas. In February 2007, Pastor Joyce was honored by the Cambridge Metropolitan Who’s Who Registry for excellence in designing children’s educational programs in Montgomery County, Maryland. Also, in May 2009, he was ordained and credentialed by the International Congress of Churches and Ministers after successfully completing a comprehensive biblical studies training program. Pastor Joyce lives by the motto: God’s Word Shall Forever Stand and We Will Forever Be in His Service!
JoAnne P. King
Pastor JoAnne P. King is Vice Chairman of the Board of Exousia Ministries, Inc., located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She was born on March 28, 1932 in Washington, D.C. She graduated from Dunbar High School in 1950. She attended Virginia State University and American University for about two years. After her children were in their teens, she decided to return to school while working full time. So she enrolled at Howard University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with honors at the age of 58. For 22 years, JoAnne worked at Howard University. During her tenure at Howard, she led several of her colleagues to Christ. While working at Howard’s Law School, she assisted in the establishment of the Law School’s Student Christian Organization that met weekly during the lunch hour. Frequently, when the students had problems of any kind, they would seek her counsel and prayers. She retired in 1991from Howard University and has been working full time for the Lord every since. As a child, Pastor King attended the Bible Way Church Worldwide and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, received water baptism, and the Holy Spirit. She rededicated her life on December 31, 1962 and became a member of First Baptist Church. She later transferred her membership to Friendship Baptist Church. While attending the Baptist Church, she served as a teacher in the Baptist Training Union, member of the Helping Hand Club, and Missionary Board. She faithfully traveled with the Head Deacon and his assistant to pray for and serve communion to the home-bound members--this is one of her fondest memories. One of Pastor King’s greatest passions has been to pray for people. So in the early 1980’s, she was led to join a group called: “The Lord’s Prayer Group” that met every Saturday evening in Maryland. The Lord’s blessings would overshadow the saints during this time of worship and praise to God. She has prayed for and with countless people and witnessed the miraculous healing power of God deliver them from all types of ailments and family tragedy. Thereafter, Pastor King began to seek an even deeper relationship with the Lord. In 1990, she joined Miracle Faith Center in Washington, D.C. She faithfully served as a Deaconess, Administrator for the International Executive Women’s Association, Registrar for the Christian Faith Bible College, Leadership Counsel, and Director of Women’s Affairs. In 2000, she heard the call of God to join her son Darryl’s ministry, Exousia Ministries. In November 2000, she was ordained as an Evangelist by Bishop Larry Dempsey at her son’s installation as Pastor of Exousia Ministries at the Church of Jesus Christ in Washington, D.C. She was promoted to Pastor in December 2009. Her leadership as an Evangelist, Pastor, and Board Member of Exousia has been exemplary. Forever continuing her pursuit of excellence in education, Pastor King is currently enrolled as a student of the Chesapeake Bible College and Seminary, where she is working on her Master’s Degree in Theological Studies and is currently a Lecturer at the Refuge of Hope School of Ministry. Pastor King is a widow and the proud mother of four (two deceased), grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 2. She lives by the motto: “Only What You Do For Christ Will Last!”
Daily Faith Builders
Every day, start your day by reading these faith-filled confessions out loud. Within a short period, you will be simply amazed at how much your life has changed. You will “know” that the power and presence of God is on your life. Immediately after making the faith confessions pray in the Holy Spirit for at least one-half hour if not longer. Not as some ritual but because you love worshiping and being in the presence of God. If you are a born again Christian and have never prayed in the Holy Ghost before, today will be your greatest day! It’s so easy and you can start right now. Turn your Bible to I John 4:15. It reads, “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.” Wow! You see, because you have confessed Jesus as the Lord of your life, the scripture says, “God dwells in you and you in God.” Well, if God dwells in you, then Jesus and the Holy Spirit dwell in you too! I John5:7 says, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” When you received Jesus into your life you received all three. All God wants you to do is believe! After reciting the faith builders, by faith just open your mouth and believe you can speak a language that you do not know—just let the Holy Spirit speak through you. It will be a language that you do not understand and that you have never spoken or learned. Later, in my teachings, I will explain the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues in detail.
